    How Long We Keep Your Data

    • As long as you are an active donor, or fundraiser – and only for as long as necessary after your last interaction with us.
    • Up to six years in relation to Gift Aid (in compliance with HMRC regulations).
    • Up to seven years if you work for or volunteer with us.
    • As long as necessary if you have pledged a legacy to us.
    • If you have been supported or reached out to our Throughoutcare Support Service.

    Opting Out of Communications

    You can opt out of receiving communications at any time. We will only send updates if you have given consent.

    Sharing Your Information

    We may share your information with third-party partners for:

    • Secure storage and donation processing
    • Securely processing Direct Debits through our bank
    • Survey collection and market analysis through a research agency
    • Sending printed materials (newsletters, appeals, updates, magazines), via our printing companies.

    These third parties are bound by contracts to use your data only under our instructions. They cannot use your personal information for any reason outside of those instructions, or sell those details to any other organisations.

    • Secure destruction of personal data when no longer needed

    1. Victims of Stalking Throughcare Support

    • We may receive referrals from third parties (e.g., GPs, other charities) and store sensitive personal data (racial/ethnic origin, religious beliefs, health information).
    • Information is stored securely and only used to provide services effectively.

    2. Recruitment and HR Administration

    • When applying for a position, we collect your personal details (name, address, contact information, etc.).
    • Successful applicants’ data will be stored for the duration of their employment.

    3. Fundraising, Donations, and Legacies

    • We collect information related to donations, events you’ve participated in, and communication preferences.
    • Gift Aid information is retained for six years to comply with HMRC.

    4. Volunteering

    • We use the information provided by volunteers and referees to process applications and contact you about opportunities.
